Spawn Space
Local kites, Brahminy seems to dominate the air space and thus the food source by the water, all that for purpose of courting and mating. They look prime, with fresh feathers, and their calls are heard. Migrant black-eared kites look subdued and kept low, not attempting to fly and much less go near the water.

Collared Owlet
In a flurry of a bird wave, the Collared Owlet was unmoved. But between the branches, her tell tale barrings are noticeable to the keen observer. Twice she flew after realizing being watched, and twice I had to search her among the twigs. Fortunately, as I'd guessed, it didn't fly far and the buff barring on her brown plumage is as clear as a picture.
She can turn her head an amazing 180 backwards, showing her false eyes which are actually on the back of the head.

A Bulbul's eye can be as red as a bull's eye, as you can see.. They can't help but to come out with the rest when a wave is impending, perhaps also crossed. Guess which other Bulbul tags along in the background? (Hint: eyes)
